Marit married Linnart and they had their son Jon and they lived in Glassås
When Jon was 20 years old she died 1646- the same year as her husband Linnart.
During the 17th century the Southern part of Sweden, Skåne, had become Swedish in the wars between Sweden and Denmark. Skåne had belonged to Denmark for hundreds of years and people were not happy about it but were forced to learn Swedish and were slowly ‘Swedenized’. In this way Småland, situated north of Skåne then became more peaceful.
She lived during Queen Kristinas (1626 – 1689) reign 1632 – 54. She was only 6 years old when she became queen since her father Gustav II Adolf was killed in Lützen in one of the wars. While she was young, Sweden was led by Axel Oxenstierna, a count who was very skilled and had been very close to Gustav II Adolf. She was a very well educated girl and spoke many languages and interested in arts, politics and the Christian faith. She eventually abdicated to convert to Catholicism and moved to Rome 1654.
