Hilma Josefina Karlsdotter 24/9 1862 – 20/1 1938

24 Sept 1862 Born in Ingelsbo – Died in Chicago Illinois

She was the first of Kristinas family to emigrate to the US 1882. She was 20 years old by then.

She married Johan Albin Gentzell  11/6 1891 as she was  29 years old. Johan Albin was born in Karlstad, Sweden 18/1 1861 and emigrated from Stockholm 1887 11 febr. – 20 years old being a painter (according to the Churchbooks)

1910 the family is registered living in Chicago, Ill. Adr: Snoct A E22 ? with the whole family of 6 children. The father, Daniel Gentzell, of John Albin also lived with them at the time, 73 years old. He is then a widower. He emigrated to the US 1894.

They had 6 children: John Magnus 1892, August 1894, Gustaf Adolph 1896, Valborg Marie 1898, Hilma C.1901, Ruth 1903. Hilma was between 30 and 41 years old when she had her children.

By 1930 in the middle of the Depression, they lived in Chicago Ward 31, Lake Township (?),  Ill. and Johan Albin is registered as a painter, having his own shop.

There are 5 children: John M., August and his son Richard, 11 years old, Gustaf Adolf, Ruth and Hilma,  registered together with them in the household: John Magnus and Adolph being WW I veterans and August being a widower with his son. They are all in their 30ies.

Johan Albin died 15 april 1937 76 years old in Chicaco Cook Co., Illinois.
