Holger was the first born of the children of Judith and Rudolf. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska to where his parents had emigrated from Sweden Oct 1911.

Nov 23 1914 little sister Lillian is born.

Little brother Hugo is  born in July 1916- baby on the picture above.

1917 one day, little sister Lillian gets a cold. After a few days Mother Maria puts her on the terrace to sleep in the fresh air. A day or two after this she gets pneumonia and dies. Judith and Rudolf are devastated and Judith starts longing for home and family in Sweden.

Not long after Lillian dies 1917 Holger breaks his arm. He is now 5 years old.  It is in the middle of WorldWar I in Europe and this hinders them to go back. The family decides to move up to where Maria and her daughter Arvida lives in Canada in  August 4, 1917. Here they live in a simple house in a farm close to her sister Marias family.

Holger met a girl, Alva and love came into his life

 But at only 19 years old Holger got thyreotoxicosis and went through a surgery for that. He came home, but only after a few days he died
