Josef was the second of Johan August and Sofias children. He was close to his 1,5 years older brother John.
24 Oct 1899 – 10 Oct 1900 – when he was 21 years old, he got a job as a farmhand at Nyhyttans Adventist Church-school in Järnboås parish in Västmanland. (AID: v146147.b580.s319) where his brother had gone to school for a year. Then he went to see his brother John in Norway who was learning tailoring there.
He returned later though to Nyhyttan and was then employed as the one in charge of the schools farm (AID: .v146149.b520.s296) (-swed.Rättare) Of course he had no idea his little sister Judiths grandchildren were going to settle his territories 100 years later and one of them- Stefan would be the big farmer of the Nyhyttan region then- ploughing the same fields- but with much bigger tools.
He moved back to Storrydet 1913 25 of April to his mother and little brothers.
After Storrydet was sold, as he was 44 years old, he moved to Önshult in Fryele parish, in Värnamo region -(1922 20 Nov.). He continued working as a farmhand at a farm there where the farmer was named Anders Magnus Johansson, being 10 years older than Josef and had no family but two maids Anna-Maria, 59 years old and born in the region and Hedda Justina Johansdotter, 52 years old. She had spent 18 years in the US but had come back 1915.
1925 19/11- he returned to Fiskaby, Svenarum, where his little brother Isak lived with his family. (AID: v169934.b80.s70 and v172331.b90.s86). He is said to have been situated in Brofors in Svenarum the last years of his life.
He never got married. He died in a Jönköpings hospital, at the age of 57 years old. He is buried in Svenarum together with his siblings.
