On the other side is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/ms?msid=202734398850949442153.0004d3448268161a5bfb1&amp;msa=0&amp;ll=57.952851,14.688721&amp;spn=0.031015,0.077162&amp;iwloc=0004d3a4e5c80bcad807f\" target=\"_blank\">\u00d6nnestorp<\/a>.*<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>JOHANNES<\/strong> was born July 2, 1809 in S\u00f6t\u00e5sa South Farm. \u00a0He was the second of only two children in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps\/ms?msa=0&amp;msid=202734398850949442153.0004d3448268161a5bfb1&amp;hl=sv&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;ll=51.062958,-33.36595&amp;spn=19.104647,119.658537&amp;t=m&amp;iwloc=0004d344d0427b8cf1652&amp;source=embed\" target=\"_blank\">S\u00f6t\u00e5sa<\/a>. He was baptized July 9 &#8211; 1 week old in <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps\/ms?msid=202734398850949442153.0004d3448268161a5bfb1&amp;msa=0&amp;iwloc=0004e56a081531d056dbf\" target=\"_blank\">Adel\u00f6v church.<\/a><a href=\"wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Sm\u00e5landsl\u00e4kt-018.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-3471\" title=\"Adel\u00f6v church\" alt=\"Sm\u00e5landsl\u00e4kt 018\" src=\"wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Sm\u00e5landsl\u00e4kt-018-150x150.jpg\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>\u00a0Johannes &#8216;faddrar&#8217; &#8211; godfathers and -mothers came from <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps\/ms?msid=202734398850949442153.0004d3448268161a5bfb1&amp;msa=0&amp;iwloc=0004d3a5223d6c070bfb1\" target=\"_blank\">Boeryd<\/a>\u00a0and S\u00f6t\u00e5sa. Boeryd was\u00a0the place Johannes father came from. They were Johannes Johannesson *- Boeryd \u00a0and Aina Samuels-dotter \u00a0from S\u00f6t\u00e5sa, and an older farmhand Jan Larsson \u00a0and a maid Maja-Lisa Davidsdotter.from S\u00f6t\u00e5sa.<\/p>\n<p>*<em>Johannes Johannesson was probably Johannes fathers 2 years younger brother- one of Johannes uncles.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Johannes lived all his life at S\u00f6t\u00e5sa South farm, but at 18 years of age\u00a01827<a href=\"http:\/\/interactive.ancestry.com\/2225\/IJ-1468_971__6-003200_3?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d2225%26path%3d&amp;ssrc=&amp;backlabel=ReturnBrowsing#?imageId=IJ-1468_971__8-095500\" target=\"_blank\">,<\/a>\u00a0he went working as a farmhand to<a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps\/ms?msid=202734398850949442153.0004d3448268161a5bfb1&amp;msa=0&amp;ll=58.278454,14.790344&amp;spn=0.38919,1.234589&amp;iwloc=0004e5f65f79e045a4d32\" target=\"_blank\"> \u00c5by<\/a>\u00a0, \u00d6desh\u00f6g. He went along with his 5 year older brother Lars Peter and his newly-wed wife Sara Stina. \u00c5by was the home-village of Sara Stina. It was very common that young people, growing up at farms, left for a year at the age of 18 to work in some other place. Lars Peter had also gone out to another farm at the age of 18.<\/p>\n<p>Their father\u00a0<a title=\"H\u00e5kan Johannesson 4\/2 1782 \u2013  15\/10 1850      Boeryd\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/the-ancestors\/johannes-72-1809\/hakan-johannesson-24-1782\" target=\"_blank\">H\u00e5kan Johanneson<\/a>\u00a0was 27 years old, as Johannes was born and his mother\u00a0<a title=\"Stina Larsdotter 29\/1 1769 S\u00d6T\u00c5SA* \u2013 28\/2 1842\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/the-ancestors\/johannes-72-1809\/stina-larsdotter-291-1770\" target=\"_blank\">Stina Larsdotter<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; was 39 years old &#8211; 12 years older than her husband.<\/p>\n<p>Johannes&#8217; mother was the one who had inherited\/bought S\u00f6t\u00e5sa South farm in June 1797, as she was 27 years old. She had grown up in the neighbouring farm K\u00e4llevik which her younger brother Johan took over. She is several times noted as sickly and taciturn in the churhbooks. We don&#8217;t know the circumstances around H\u00e5kans and Stinas marriage.<\/p>\n<p>BROTHER LARS PETER:\u00a0Johannes&#8217; only sibling:<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Lars Peter was born \u00a0April 1, 1804.<\/p>\n<p>1822, as Lars Peter was 18 years old and Johannes 13, he moved away to work as a farmhand in another farm for the first time. The farm named\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps\/ms?msid=202734398850949442153.0004d3448268161a5bfb1&amp;msa=0&amp;ll=58.017646,14.691811&amp;spn=0.053735,0.154324&amp;iwloc=0004e5f62075b1eb27e7e\" target=\"_blank\">Falla<\/a>\u00a0was situated\u00a0about 10 km northeast of \u00a0S\u00f6t\u00e5sa by the lake Noen. \u00a0He stayed there for 2 years, after which he came back to S\u00f6t\u00e5sa &#8211; 20 years old until 22. Then he went back to Falla farm again.\u00a0<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In April 1827- 23 years old- he married\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/interactive.ancestry.com\/2225\/IJ-1468_971__6-003200_3?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d2225%26path%3d&amp;ssrc=&amp;backlabel=ReturnBrowsing#?imageId=IJ-1012_427__6-072900\" target=\"_blank\">Sara Stina Persdotter<\/a>, 22, born 25 november 1805 from \u00c5by, \u00d6desh\u00f6g. May 5, 1827\u00a0they moved to \u00c5by as newly weds.\u00a0 They worked as farmhand and maid at B\u00f6k\u00f6 farm, \u00c5by. They gave birth to a daughter Johanna 25 Dec 1828, but she died only\u00a01 day old.<\/p>\n<p>1 Febr 1831 tragically\u00a0Sara Stina dies 26 years old &#8211; probably in cot.\u00a0Lars Petter goes back to S\u00f6t\u00e5sa \u00a0(1831) from <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps\/ms?msid=202734398850949442153.0004d3448268161a5bfb1&amp;msa=0&amp;ll=58.339776,14.897461&amp;spn=0.851998,2.469177\" target=\"_blank\">\u00c5by<\/a>, but only for a short while. He was now 27 years old and already a widower. He moved on to\u00a0B\u00e5llarp\u00a0which is a farm northeast of S\u00f6t\u00e5sa for a year. In B\u00e5llarp the family seemed to have bonds since Johannes mothers mother <a title=\"Cicilia Larsdotter 26\/8 1723 S\u00d6T\u00c5SA-\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/the-ancestors\/johannes-72-1809\/stina-larsdotter-291-1770\/cecilia-larsdotter-268-1723\" target=\"_blank\">Cecilia<\/a> had been working and staying there at times and also his mother Stina.<\/p>\n<p>1832 he came back again to S\u00f6t\u00e5saand stayed til Nov. 25 1833 as he moved on\u00a0to<a href=\"http:\/\/interactive.ancestry.com\/2225\/IJ-1468_971__6-003200_3?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d2225%26path%3d&amp;ssrc=&amp;backlabel=ReturnBrowsing#?imageId=IJ-1468_971__8-096400\" target=\"_blank\">\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/interactive.ancestry.com\/2225\/IJ-1468_971__6-003200_3?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d2225%26path%3d&amp;ssrc=&amp;backlabel=ReturnBrowsing#?imageId=IJ-1468_971__8-096400\" target=\"_blank\">Lommaryd<\/a><\/p>\n<p>1839 Lars Petter is found again at S\u00f6t\u00e5sa coming back from Stockholm, Danderyd this time. There is no note of a spouse. In the churchbook there is a crossed over &#8216;Brother&#8217; and he is called &#8216;Farmhand&#8217; and &#8216;widower&#8217; instead.\u00a0He seems to have been there until 1845- for 6 years. No notice where he went after this.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/interactive.ancestry.com\/2225\/IJ-1468_971__6-003200_3?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d2225%26path%3d&amp;ssrc=&amp;backlabel=ReturnBrowsing#?imageId=IJ-1469_971__12-059700\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>JOHANNES and Anna-Greta bought\u00a0Lars Petters share of\u00a0S\u00f6t\u00e5sa 1835 &#8211; It seems as if Johannes was the favored son to take over the farm even if he paid Lars Petter his share. We have no idea about the circumstances of this.<a href=\"http:\/\/interactive.ancestry.com\/2225\/IJ-1469_971__11-013900?backurl=http%3a%2f%2fsearch.ancestry.com%2fsearch%2fdb.aspx%3fdbid%3d2225%26path%3d&amp;ssrc=&amp;backlabel=ReturnBrowsing#?imageId=IJ-1471_971__22-053300\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Note that both sons had names after their uncles (-see portrait of their father<a title=\"Johannes H\u00e5kansson 3\/6 1754 \u2013 1\/4 1810 Boeryd\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/the-ancestors\/johannes-72-1809\/hakan-johannesson-24-1782\/johannes-hakansson-36-1754-14-1810\"> H\u00e5kan Johannesson<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>JOHANNES:<\/p>\n<p>Johannes lived all his life in S\u00f6t\u00e5sa South where he also died Dec.17 1890- 81 year old.<\/p>\n<p>He married <a title=\"Anna-Greta 29\/10 1812 Humlefall, \u00c4skeryd \u2013 27\/5 1900\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/the-ancestors\/anna-greta-2910-1812\">AnnaGreta Jonsdotter<\/a> (born in Humlefall<a href=\"Visa annagreta and johannes ancestors and descendants p\u00e5 en st\u00f6rre karta\" target=\"_blank\">,<\/a> Adel\u00f6v) 7\/11 1834 &#8211; 3 years younger than Johannes. He was then 25 years old<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3461 aligncenter\" style=\"color: #333333; font-style: normal;\" title=\"Anna-Greta\" alt=\"\" src=\"wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Anna-Greta.jpg\" width=\"67\" height=\"86\" \/><\/p>\n<p>They had 11 children all together. Their second child Anna-Lotta died 7 years old. All the others became grownup.<\/p>\n<p>His parents lived at S\u00f6t\u00e5sa until they died, too: His father H\u00e5kan until 1850 and his mother <a title=\"Stina Larsdotter 29\/1 1769 S\u00d6T\u00c5SA* \u2013 28\/2 1842\" href=\"\/the-ancestors\/johannes-72-1809\/stina-larsdotter-291-1770\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"broken_link\">Stina<\/a> 1842.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Johannes-and-AnnaGreta.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-38 aligncenter\" title=\"Johannes and AnnaGreta and Emma Sofia supposedly\" alt=\"\" src=\"wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Johannes-and-AnnaGreta.jpg\" width=\"153\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-484\" style=\"color: #333333; font-style: normal;\" alt=\"Johannes H\u00e5kansson\" src=\"wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Johannes-H\u00e5kansson.jpg\" width=\"57\" height=\"68\" \/>\u00a0 \u00a0Johannes\u00a0was a \u00a0a very handy man. A farmer and a smith and a carpenter. We\u00a0think he even made clocks which was usual among smiths. In a little cottage at S\u00f6t\u00e5sa he made caskets for the dead in the village. Anna-Greta would prepare them for the funeral. This house is now taken down and a new house is built here\" alt=\"\" src=\"wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/S\u00f6t\u00e5sa-S\u00f6derg\u00e5rd-without-head.jpg\" width=\"745\" height=\"559\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/S\u00f6t\u00e5sa-S\u00f6derg\u00e5rd-without-head.jpg 745w, https:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/S\u00f6t\u00e5sa-S\u00f6derg\u00e5rd-without-head-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/S\u00f6t\u00e5sa-S\u00f6derg\u00e5rd-without-head-399x300.jpg 399w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 745px) 100vw, 745px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Johannes\u00a0built the new house at S\u00f6t\u00e5sa 1869 &#8211; the year after the 3 first children:<a title=\"Gustaf Fredrik 2\/11 1835 \u2013 S\u00f6t\u00e5sa \u2013 14\/2 1921\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/m\" target=\"_blank\">Gustaf Fredrik<\/a>\u00a034, <a title=\"Hedda LOVISA\/e Isacsson 13\/6 1843 \u2013 3\/1 1926\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/hedda-lovisa\" target=\"_blank\">Hedda Lovisa<\/a>,25 and <a title=\"Lottie Jaensson\/Johnson- Augusta Charlotta 7\/1 1850 \u2013 7\/4 1931\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/lottie-augusta-charlotta\" target=\"_blank\">Augusta Charlott<\/a>a,18, emigrated to the US. 1867 had been a year of starvation in Sm\u00e5land but he took a loan of 900 riksdaler in &#8216;Sm\u00e5lands hypoteks-f\u00f6rening&#8217; and built it. (Hypoteksf\u00f6rening=\u00a0Mortage society: An association of property owners who pooled their money to lend for mortgages to fellow members.) 1868 the oldest daughter <a title=\"Christina Sofia 24\/2 1839 -\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/christina\" target=\"_blank\">Christina<\/a>, who had been away to work as a maid on other farms, came back, married with 4 children and she and her husband Carl, leased some of the farmland from Johannes and Anna-Greta. The same day they moved back Nov 19 &#8211;\u00a0<a title=\"Johan August Johannisson 19\/11 1846 -1909\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/johan-august\" target=\"_blank\">Johan August<\/a>\u00a0also moved back to the farm after some time away. This was Johan Augusts birthday. Also\u00a0<a title=\"Hedda LOVISA\/e Isacsson 13\/6 1843 -\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/hedda-lovisa\" target=\"_blank\">Hedda Lovisa<\/a>\u00a0came back after having been out working as a maid.<\/p>\n<p>Johannes and Anna-Greta had an older Maid (Tj\u00e4nsteHjon) living with them her last year of life 1866-67: Maja-Stina Andersson born 1892 from Adel\u00f6f (She became 75 years old).<\/p>\n<p>In May 1874 &#8211; when Johannes was 65 years old, he signed a contract selling his farm to his closest neigbour Anders Johan Johansson (the elderly) in K\u00e4llevik, for 7000 Riksdaler.- K\u00e4llevik is the closest neighbouring farm of S\u00f6t\u00e5sa in the east. *1<\/p>\n<p>1\/8 of \u00d6nnestorp, the farm on the other side of the lake, was the same day sold to the daughter\u00a0<a title=\"Christina Sofia 24\/2 1839 \u2013 6\/1 1930\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/christina\" target=\"_blank\">Christina<\/a> and her husband Carl Johan Andersson, who lived at S\u00f6t\u00e5sa and they moved there. A special contract was made: an Undantagscontract (-Excluding contract) which stated that Johannes and Anna-Greta would be able to stay at S\u00f6t\u00e5sa for the rest of their lives. They kept the smithy and lived in &#8216;the Little house&#8217; which probably was the older house# \u00a0of the farm from before 1869. In the contract there were also agreement of quite a lot of things the buyers would supply the old couple with yearly, so that they would survive. It was quite a usual thing to make this kind of Excluding contract at the time, but a bit unusual that it was not sold to one of the inheritants but also that they kept quite a few rights- more than usual- as long as they lived. According to our &#8216;geneology father&#8217;\u00a0<a title=\"Rune Blomdahl 21\/4 1917\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/johan-august\/john-adolf-blomdahl\/rune-blomdahl-214-1917\" target=\"_blank\">Rune Blomdahl<\/a>&#8211; this might have been an argument for their own children to not wish to buy and inherit the farm for further use. The youngest daughter Matilda was still living at home, 16 years old by then.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00f6t\u00e5sa has supposedly been in the same family up until \u00a09th of May\/confirmed 5\/10 1874 when Johan Johansson from K\u00e4llevik bought it. <em>(Contracts were always done in two steps this way with half a year apart- one in the spring and one in the fall)<\/em> There were lots of tools from Johannes smithy and carpentry and also an old clock which was said had been made by Johannes. The transactions and former ownerships were witnessed and signed by the father-in-law-to-be (1876) of Johannes son <a title=\"Johan August Johannisson 19\/11 1846 -1909\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/?page_id=108\" target=\"_blank\">Johan August<\/a>; Johan Samuelsson from S\u00f6t\u00e5sa North Farm.<\/p>\n<p>Johannes and Anna-Greta both lived and stayed at the farm until Johannes died the year of 1890- after this the excluding contract was kept, but Anna-Greta probably moved to live with her daughter Christina who lived on the other side of the lake in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/ms?msid=202734398850949442153.0004d3448268161a5bfb1&amp;msa=0&amp;ll=57.952851,14.688721&amp;spn=0.031015,0.077162&amp;iwloc=0004d3a4e5c80bcad807f\" target=\"_blank\">\u00d6nnestorp<\/a>*<\/p>\n<p>When Johan Johansson &#8211; the older, from K\u00e4llevik died, the\u00a0farm was sold at an auction for a symbolic 2 riksdaler 1897, \u00a0It was sold to Johan d.y. (the younger) and Georg Johansson\u00a0at an auction and the excluding contract was also presented and continued with the new owners. Anna-Greta lived until 1900.<\/p>\n<p>7 of Johannes and Anna-Gretas children emigrated to the US while he was alive. Only\u00a0<a title=\"Johan August Johannisson 19\/11 1846 \u2013 26\/11 1909\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/johan-august\" target=\"_blank\">Johan August<\/a>, <a title=\"Christina Sofia 28\/2 1839 -\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/?page_id=93\" target=\"_blank\">Christina<\/a> and\u00a0<a title=\"Johanna Maria 18\/6 1841 \u2013 June 20 1915\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/johanna\" target=\"_blank\">Johanna<\/a>\u00a0were still in Sweden all of Johannes&#8217; life.<\/p>\n<p>Noone really knows why the farm was not inherited or bought by one of the children. Some have said that they think Johannes was quite willful and maybe didnt get to an agreement with his children.<\/p>\n<p>Swedish Churchbook references of Johannes life:<\/p>\n<p><a
