He had one older half-brother<a title=\"Isak Ludwig (Svensson) Frid 1855\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/johanna\/isak-ludvig\" target=\"_blank\"> Isak Ludvig<\/a>, and 7 younger siblings: <a title=\"Johan Edvard Tyden 3\/3 1867 \u2013 after 1930\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/johanna\/johan-edvard-tyden-33-1867-after-1930\" target=\"_blank\">Johan Edvard<\/a>&#8211; 2 years younger, <a title=\"Esther Tyden 24\/5 1869 \u2013\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/johanna\/esther-tyden-245-1869\" target=\"_blank\">Ester<\/a> 4 years younger who died only 1 year old, <a title=\"Oscar Henrik Tyden 2\/5 1871 \u2013 21\/4 1945\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/johanna\/oscar-henrik-tyden-25-1871-214-1945\" target=\"_blank\">Oscar Henrik<\/a>\u00a06 years younger,<a title=\"Karl Anders Tyden 14\/2 1874 \u2013 21\/4 1920\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/johanna\/karl-anders-tyden-142-1874-214-1920\" target=\"_blank\"> Carl Anders<\/a> 9 years younger, <a title=\"Matilda \u2018Tillie\u2019 Olivia Tyden 1\/12 1876 \u2013 23\/11 1942\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/johanna\/matilda-olivia-tyden-112-1876-2311-1942\" target=\"_blank\">Mathilda<\/a> 11 years younger,<a title=\"Axel Wilhelm Frid 26\/12 1879 \u2013 27\/9 1918\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/johanna\/axel-wilhelm-frid-2612-1879-279-1918\" target=\"_blank\"> Axel Wilhelm<\/a> 14 years younger and <a title=\"Anna Alida Frid 7\/8 1882 \u2013 7\/8 1902\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/johanna\/anna-alida-frid-78-1882-78-1902\" target=\"_blank\">Anna Alida<\/a> who only reached 20 years of age and was born 3 months after Emil had emigrated.<\/p>\n<p>He was the first of the children who moved to the US &#8211; 29\/4 1882 together with his aunt I<a title=\"Ida Charlotta 4\/8 1845 -\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/ida-charlotta\">da Charlotta<\/a> and her 7-year-old son <a title=\"Johan Peterson 14\/2 1873 \u2013\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/ida-charlotta\/johan-peterson-142-1873\">Johan Peterson<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #333333; font-style: normal; line-height: 24px;\"><a style=\"font-style: normal; line-height: 24px; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Ida-Charlotta-4-August-18451.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-58 alignright\" style=\"border-color: #bbbbbb; background-color: #eeeeee;\" alt=\"Ida Charlotta 4 August 1845\" src=\"wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/Ida-Charlotta-4-August-18451-150x150.png\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He was only 17 years old at the time\u00a0and had only 20 dollar\u00a0at hand as he arrived in the US. \u00a0When emigrating he took the name Tyden. He became successful and went back and forth to Sweden several times and is registered as passenger on Ellis Island. In the registries there it said that he was &#8220;a sailor with a lady on one arm&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>He married Minnie H. Johnson 20\/2 1895. She was born 8\/2 1872- 7 years younger than himself. \u00a0He was then 30 years old. They settled in <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps\/ms?msid=202734398850949442153.0004d3448268161a5bfb1&amp;msa=0&amp;ll=50.625073,-41.308594&amp;spn=65.442711,158.027344&amp;iwloc=0004d6a6e31dfa873b101\" target=\"_blank\">Hastings, Mich.<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Emils-Tydens-wife2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2675 aligncenter\" title=\"Emils Tydens wife Minnie\" alt=\"\" src=\"wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Emils-Tydens-wife2-208x300.jpg\" width=\"208\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Emils-Tydens-wife2-208x300.jpg 208w, https:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Emils-Tydens-wife2.jpg 667w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 208px) 100vw, 208px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They had a daughter:\u00a0<a title=\"Florence (Tyden-) Groos 1896 \u2013\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/florence-groos\">Florence<\/a>\u00a01896. They had a second daughter 1902, Ellinor, who died 2 months old in August 27.<\/p>\n<p>He created a prosperous life. He was an inventor and a successful businessman. \u00a0At the time of his death he had 200 patents.\u00a0He built well-equipped farms at the time of the Great depression. He was respected and loved by the people around. See movie below.<\/p>\n<p>Emil went back and fourth to Sweden several times during his life. He \u00a0often visited\u00a0with family. He also arranged for younger siblings and relatives to come and work in Hastings where he lived. For instance for<a title=\"Maria Johannisdotter\/Bjurstr\u00f6m\/Persson 2\/5 1885\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/johan-august\/maria-johannisdotterbjurstrompersson-25-1885\">\u00a0Maria Johansson<\/a>\/Bjurstr\u00f6m\/Paerson- cousin of his- he paid her ticket to the US 1911 in exchange for her working at his house for some time after she arrived. Several of his siblings who emigrated later took the same last name Tyden. He was then 44 years old. Together with his family: Minnie and Florence, they brought her to the States on a ship Laurentic, going from Liverpool to Quebec, Canada 19th of August 1909. She stayed in the US for the rest of her life.<\/p>\n<p>Emil was an inventive and industrious young man.
