His father is <a title=\"August Gentzell 1894\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/christina\/hilma-josefina-karlsdotter-249-1862-201-1938\/august-gentzell-1894\" target=\"_blank\">August<\/a> Gentzell born 1894- being 25 when Richard is born.<\/p>\n<p>His mother is Ruth J Schagerstrom\/Gentzell and was 21 when she had Richard, but dies Jan 30 1920 when Richard is 1 year old. She was born 13 july 1897. Her parents were Swedish as well as Augusts, and was born in Illinois. She was buried in Oak Hill, Chicago, Ill. 3rd of Febr. They were then living in\u00a02554 W 69th St of Chicago.<\/p>\n<p>At 11 years old he lives with his dad at his <a title=\"Hilma Josefina Karlsdotter 24\/9 1862 \u2013 20\/1 1938\" href=\"http:\/\/ancestry.smars.se\/exempelsida\/christina\/hilma-josefina-karlsdotter-249-1862-201-1938\" target=\"_blank\">Grandparents<\/a> home in Chicago, where also several other of his fathers siblings lived. This is in the middle of the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Great_Depression_in_the_United_States\" target=\"_blank\">Great Depression<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He goes to school including 4 years of high school.<\/p>\n<p>Richard stays in Chicago, even when his father August lives in Otto, Oceana in Michigan as a farmer. He then stays with his aunt Hilma Hasse, who is married to Albert Hasse and where also his uncle John Magnus is staying. He is working 40 hours a week privately as a \u00a0 \u00a0shipping clerk<\/p>\n<p>1941 &#8211; 23 years old, Richard is enlisted in WW II in Camp Grant. He weighs 168 pounds and is 64 inches tall.<\/p>\n<p>Richard was employed for 45 years at the Illinois Bell Telephone.
