The parents grieved their children very much. After this, father Johan August was asking himself why God had punished him. It is said that after this he started practicing saturday as the holy day. He had been told by a neighbouring ‘free-thinker’ that this was the day to keep sabbath on according to the Bible. He had gone home studying the Bible to find the answer, but he thought that if the whole world kept Sunday as a holy day- why would he be the only one to know?
